There's bad, and there's bad - and this display was arguably at the top of the pile. Going into this game against a hungry, quick side, there were some caveats for what happened: we went into this with only 12 players, with 11 unavailable for a host of reasons, another was late, and we had to start 2 players who clearly are still suffering from injuries. But still...
The first 20 or so minutes were not too bad. They scored a shocker - Gary dropping the ball into Brewer and rolling in for an OG - but we responded well, went close a couple of times before Baba lashed home after a bit of pinball wizard in the box. But straight away we gifted them another - and before we knew it we were 5-1 down, with probably 4 of those goals avoidable.
At HT, it was a case of just going out and playing for pride - and we had the lift of the return of Renay - but even he couldn't be superman. We did OK for the first 20 again, but as soon as a 6th went in, half the team gave up to ensure utter and abject humiliation. Yes we had players missing, but enough on the pitch to perform, so things will have to change.
