Sutton High Youth saw off a depleted Dorking Wanderers thanks to a few stunning strikes, to keep pace at the top of the Premier Division.
A bumpy pitch didn’t help the flow of the game and Sutton struggled with their touch and passing early on. The deadlock was broken with the first two of free-kicks, and the first of two fantastic long-range efforts from Tadey Didun, shortly before half-time – with the midfielder finding the top corner from 20 yards out.
The second goal was always going to be important and it came from another free-kick early in the second half. With Tadey off as a sub, Kie Apostollou stepped up this time and smashed home into the roof of the net from a similar distance.
Victor Pasquetto danced his way through a few tackles and rolled home the third, before Tadey added the goal of the game not long after. Back on in midfield, he smashed home a right footed volley from fully 30 yards out.
James Wright added the fifth with a solid header from Kie’s corner as Sutton looked like they might rack up a big score.
Dorking kept battling away to their credit and stole a consolation with 5 minutes remaining.
The result keeps Sutton in contention at the top of the table, with just four points separating the top six as the season reaches an exciting climax.
